Soprano Sax
Rehearsing classical rep at CSW 2003.
My soprano is a Jupiter Artist Model. I seem to change setups all the time, nevertheless, it always sounds like me! I tend to favour either a Caravan or Rascher soprano m/p for classical and a Vandoren S25 for jazz.
Alto Sax
I have a Jupiter Artist Model alto with a Vandoren A35 piece for big band and jazz work, and a Caravan Medium chamber m/p for classical.
Tenor Sax
Looking suave w/my tenor on the set of Swing!
I use a Caravan m/p on my Jupiter Artist Tenor for classical, and an old Sumner #8 for jazz playing.
Baritone Sax
Rehearsing with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra.
The Jupiter Artist bari I play was the first of the Jupiter saxes I got, and I still love it. I use a Vandoren B75 m/p on it for big band and jazz playing, and a Caravan for classical work.
Clarinet
I've been playing on the same Selmer 10s clarinet that I got in high school for 25 years! I can't seem to find anything else like it. Steve Fox modified the G# key to fit my hand better, and added a bis Bb tab. Vandoren B40 m/p and Bonade reverse lig.
Alto & Bass Clarinet
In the studio with the Paul Ashwell Big Band.
My alto and bass clarinets are also Selmers - both Series 9 as far as I know. Vandoren B40s with Vandoren #3 reeds on both.
Contra Alto Clarinet
My Contra Alto (AKA Eb Contrabass) Clarinet is an old plastic Vito. I use the stock mouthpiece, but refaced it myself. I'm trying some Alexander DC bari reeds on it right now, with a Rovner 4R ligature.
Bassoon
I've got an old Kohlert bassoon. It's keyed to a high D, and I had Shauna at Gary Armstrong Woodwinds add a RH whisper lock added to it. I use the excellent bassoon reeds that Paul Buttemer makes.

Flute & Piccolo
My flute is a DeMedici - this is Jupiter's handmade line. It's a fantastic instrument. My picc is a Jupiter plastic student model - at least until they start making DeMedici piccs! I'm not sure if you can see it in this photo, but my flute has engraving around the edge of the key cups.
Oboe
I've got a quirky oboe - it's a European model Amati with the single automatic octave key. I buy commercial reeds and adjust them to my own needs.
